Measuring glasses come in a variety of shapes, sizes and material these days. All the options can make it really difficult to decide which to invest in. Here are some of my thoughts on the measuring cups I think every married couple needs.

Did you ever think you’d end up on a blog telling you about the measuring cups every married couple needs? For what it’s worth, I never really imagined writing such a blog.

And yet, here we are.

I’ve got two aims in this blog post. I want to tell you which measuring cups are the ones that I think every married couple needs. As always, I also think non-married people needs these too.

My second aim, which is obviously more important, is to give you my input on why I think you need these.

I know most people—newlyweds or not—don’t have a ton of time to read blogs on measuring cups so, I want to give you three reasons on why these measuring cups are so amazing.

Here we go. Reason number one. Oh, and the measuring cups I’m referring to are these.

Top 5 Measuring Cup Sets To Have In Your Kitchen

1. Convenience

Don’t we all love efficiency? I know my wife and I do. Efficiency in its simplest form is just a matter of making the most out of our energy. We want to exert the least amount of effort for the greatest return possible.

These measuring cups do just this. They maximize your return. Kind of a weird way to talk about it, I know. But here’s what I mean.

You can mix, and then you can pour. All with the same measuring cup.

I’ve definitely got the 4-piece Pyrex Glass Measuring Cup set in mind here. With the mid-size cups, you can whisk up your eggs and pour directly into the pan.

With the largest cup, you can mix the corn bread batter and pour directly (and with precision) right into the baking tray.

This measuring glass set provides you efficiency and convenience in the kitchen unlike ever before.

Now, for reason number two.

2. High-Quality Tempered Glass

Okay, what in the world does this mean? In short, it means that these glasses are so durable they can undergo a variety of different temperature environments.

Your freezer.
Your microwave.
Your dishwasher.

The fact that you can mix something, throw it in the microwave, take it out, and then add it to whatever else you’re making is absolutely fantastic. (You can hear tones of the “convenience” point here once again.)

As always, you’ll want to be careful removing the measuring cups from environments that’ll heat them up like the microwave. But being able to use these in the freezer or in the microwave, and then finishing them off in the dish washer is incredible.

Must have’s.

Time for reason number three.

3. They Come In A Set

It seems to me like most people opt for the 2-cup measuring cup alone. This isn’t totally surprising as I’m sure most people are using it just for small batches of cookies or sauces.

While I don't have the set pictured above, having the set that includes the 4-cup and 8-cup measuring glasses has made life in the kitchen much more enjoyable.

“Enjoyable?” you’re wondering? Yes.

I mean it, when you have the right tools, cooking and baking go from being something you “have to do” to something you “get to do.”

One of my favorite meals I’ve made to validate this point was pancakes. With pancakes, you usually have a big bowl of batter and a ladle. And then you’ve got the classic mess where the batter drips from the ladle on its way from the bowl to the skillet.

We’ve all been there.

The Pyrex glass measuring cups enable you to pour directly from the place where the batter is. I’ll be honest, you’ll have a little bit of batter running down the glass on the side, but that’s much easier to clean than pancake batter in the crack between your stove and countertop.

There are more reasons why I think you need these measuring glasses, but I’ll leave you with these ones for now.
